Datasound Laboratories Ltd.(DSL) is a U.K. based Embedded Solutions company located within the business technology park in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. After designing its first embedded target platform in 1985, the company formally became Datasound Laboratories Ltd in August 1991. Growing organically year on year, DSL has constantly been at the forefront of new technologies and is recognised as a leading specialist supplier of embedded computing solutions to the OEM market. Contributing to our product range is a variety of products for PC104, Eurocard, Half-Eurocard, SlotCard, ETX and other industry formats. In satisfying the day to day demand for these products DSL distributes on behalf of established Taiwanese manufacturers such as ICOP Technology and Aplex Technology. Over sixty percent of DSL’s activity is the design (and on-going supply) of embedded solutions via performance optimised, cost-effective target platforms. These tend to encompass a wide range of x86 and ARM architecture, Microchip® PIC® microprocessor, peripheral controllers and embedded systems. DSL has certainly come a long way since its foundation in 1991. Over the years, they have become a significant provider of embedded computer and panel PC solutions as well as extending its specialist custom design services in both those areas. Now entering its 21st year of trading, DSL has shown continued organic growth and this success has allowed it to make significant investments in its infrastructure. Its new premises have been purposely fitted out to reflect its activities with ‘state of the art’ design offices, well equipped R&D workshops and large production handling facilities. This aside it has also automated many of its processes to remove labour intensity, avoid errors and maintain its ambitious “on time" delivery targets. This investment will ensure it can continue to provide a first class service to its expanding client base.
